Last night, I took Eric out for his birthday. He managed to get us hooked up with reservations for Morini, the Osteria by Chef Michael White in Nolita. We had an amazing meal of antipasti, pastas and porchetta – not to mention a tasty dessert wine.
Check out the visual tasting tour of the meal after the jump.

Meatball antipasti.

Strozzapretti with a mushroom sauce. The thick, doughy pasta was unlike any I’ve had before. It took a minute to get used to, but it was very hearty. The pastas may have been my favorite course of the evening.

Taglietelle with ragu antico – the sauce was sweet and meaty and delicious. Between these two, I’m inspired to eat much more pasta for a while.

We finished with a course of porchetta. Between all the other food, neither of us had a lot of space left to really appreciate it, but it was wonderful and deserving of more attention on a future visit.
